Low voltage rock

Found some footage of a rare acoustic SISTERSOUND performance, from more innocent times. The show took place one Saturday night at Twisters in Richmond, VA, on December 3, 1994, when we opened up for local rockers, Damn Near Red.

We were between drummers at the time, but determined to keep playing and performing in the interim. MTV Unplugged was a thing, and anyway, the songs sounded good acoustic. Songs usually slathered in distortion and feedback suddenly become clear, and you can really hear the chords and melody. Still managed to find some tasty acoustic feedback through an amped up acoustic pickup.

Really glad we did this show. Afterwards, Chris Gallo who was in attendance approached us and said, “have you ever considered playing with a drummer?” Funny he should mention it… One thing led to another, and I’m not sure if Chris knew what he was getting into, but it set our course, and we tapped into a deep well spring of creativity over the next several years.

So there you go. Sometimes it’s good to try things you swear you’d never do.
